Personnel Commission

Welcome to the Personnel Commission of the 91ÉÙÅ®

The Personnel Commission administers the merit system of the Los Angeles Community College District. The merit system is a system of principles that guide the personnel management programs of most public jurisdictions in the United States. Our purpose and goals are to:

  • Recruit qualified individuals from all segments of the community
  • Select and advance employees on the basis of merit after fair and open competition
  • Treat employees and applicants fairly and equitably, without regard to political affiliation, race, color, religion, ethnicity, gender, marital status, age, or disability
  • Provide equal pay for equal work
  • Maintain high standards of integrity, conduct, and concern for the public interest
  • Educate and train employees in order to promote better organizational or individual performance
  • Protect employees from improper political influence
